Built around the research we wanted to see

Cambridge Circus Research was founded in June 2026 by two working professionals with a simple goal: to bring rigorous, methodical and data-based research into the policy space.

We run CCR in our free time alongside busy working lives. That makes our time limited, but it also keeps the project focused. We work on questions because we think they matter, and because important public debates deserve evidence that can be tested rather than assertions that simply get repeated.

Our aim is to bring the facts to the table on the issues facing Britain today. That means going back to the underlying data, being clear about methodology and uncertainty, and following the evidence even when the result is inconvenient. We want our work to help policymakers, journalists and the public argue about the substance of a problem rather than around it.

We publish our research freely because its value comes from being read, challenged and used. CCR is still young, but the principle behind it is straightforward: better policy starts with a clearer account of what is actually happening.

Research that can be checked

We try to make the chain from evidence to conclusion visible, and to distinguish what the data show from what policy should do about it.

Start with the evidence

We look for the best available administrative, survey and primary-source data before forming a conclusion.

Show the method

Our work should be reproducible where the underlying data allow it, with limitations and uncertainty stated plainly.

Make it useful

Research matters when it helps clarify a real policy choice. We therefore connect empirical findings to practical questions facing Britain.
